Introduction
Featuring a complex network of approximately 2,000
flights, British Airways Virtual uses its own unique Scheduling database program.
This is called the Offline Schedules Program or
OSP for short which is a phrase that you will
soon get used to when visiting our forums.
There is an OSP
introduction with a lot more in-depth information and we even provide a tutorial
flight so new members will be able to attain proficiency quickly in using and
also understanding the system. This is located in Flight Operations. The system
is straight forward providing you read the available documentation.
How we operate the system
Due to the nature of our schedules,
especially during transition from Winter to Summer, HTML schedules are deemed to
be inefficient and time consuming when updating and do not offer the pilot the
latest information. When we update the schedules from our
main database, providing
you have an active Internet Connection, your program will
automatically update the information which may include
changes to departure times, airframe changes or even
cancellation and addition of new services. The OSP is also used for filing
PIREPS or Flight Reports at British Airways Virtual.
Carry out a
routine check often !

If you
are a frequent flyer then it is advisable to check for
updates before you set out on any flight with British
Airways Virtual.
If we remove or add a flight your OSP will detect that their
has been a change to the information the OSP will update
accordingly to ensure that you have the most up to date
scheduling information from our server database.
Downloading the OSP
The OSP program is mandatory for all offline flight
operations that you carry out and is required by all
members.
As with all downloads at BAV please ensure you have no
download managers or resumers active.
